Etude House Twinkling Purple and Shisem 610

Holy balls. I've just had the toughest time trying to upload pics to Blogger/Picasa. Serious issues. Made me all cranky >:(

Anyway, here's today's offering...

I keep swatching things have have nothing to do with each other which makes it really hard to put together posts that make any sense. I think the only thing these two polishes have in common is that they both originate from Asia. LOL.

Etude House Twinkling Purple. This is two coats over white. How cool is this?! Twinkling Purple is full of really fine fuchsia-purple glitter, two sizes of holo hexes and the odd holo star. Aahh it's so pretty! And the bottle is so cute! It's ass heart shaped!

Shisem 610. The epitome of perfect green creme. OMG I love it!! It's slightly jelly and so so shiny. The downside is that it takes FOREVER to dry. It was still denty 30 minutes later with SV. But hot damn just look at the colour! So perfect!

I don't know where you can purchase Shisems. I got this really cheap while I was on holiday in Shanghai at a market. It was night and the lighting was bad so I pretty much purchased a couple of these blind. Thank god I did though because I would quite honestly pay $$ to get my hands on a colour like this!

OPI DS Magic

Beautiful glass-flecky/foily finish and the most pretty electric blue colour. It has the slightest purple duochrome to it as well.

I layered one coat of DS Magic over two of Yoga-ta Get This Blue.

So glowy in the sun!

I managed to capture the purple a little.

Man this is just so freaking amazing. These kinds of blues are my favourite! Rich, bright and saturated.

Chemistry 507

Check it out!!

Remind you of anything? Chanel Peridot maybe? *stabs lemming in the heart* DIE I SAY! DIEE!!

I'm not sure where you can get this because it was sent to me by a lovely friend. Thank you Kristy!! Artform used to have a dupe but they've since taken down their polishes on their website so I don't know if you can still order from them...

*edit* It seems that Chemistry polishes are available in store at Essential Beauty and online at Essential Distribution. Thanks to willowstreet for this info! Please note that I have no experience ordering from them so take care if you choose to do so.

Two coats on black

The gold flash is amazingly glowy under bright light

Green and gold! Aussie!!!

And for prosperity, here is three coats on its own

Please ignore my dryness and focus on the awesome instead :)

Now I don't want any Ginger and Liz style action against me so I'll try and tread carefully but from what I can make out, Chemistry is another Australian nail polish brand that is manufactured by the same people who do Ozotic Pro, Glitter Gal, Artform, B-Range and possibly others.

Now I have no proof, but I see dupes across the board including the multichromes (eg. Ozotic 505/ Artform 505/ B-Range B505/ Chemistry 505) as well as the holos (eg. Ozotic 517/ Artform 517/ B-Range B517/ Chemistry 517/ Glitter Gal Holographic Green). The colours are the same and most of the time, the numbers match up too. I did some digging and I think the company is called Lumineye.

From what I see, Glitter Gal is the most expensive by far but they seem to have a few unique holos which I can't find dupes of in the other lines including Deep Green and Marine Blue.

I just thought I'd mention that since I found it interesting and I thought some of you might like to know as well especially because of the price difference between some of these different brands.

An Odd Bunch - Etudes, Missha, NYX and Essie

I have all these swatches on my computer that don't fit together in any sort of category so here's a bunch of random ones.

How awesome are Etude bottles? So curvy and pretty. The downside is that I cannot for the life of me hold the bottle for a swatch picture without my fingers smooshing together and looking funny.

Etude BL019 which is also called Extreme Blue. This is so cool! There's so much going on in this.. blue, silver, holographic glitter all thrown into a brilliant blue base.

And here is what it looks like with one coat over black

Ugh. Sorry about the broken nail. This is an older swatch.

Sportsgirl Galaxy. Dark, almost black base with a red pearly shimmer and little gold flaky glitters. Very unique. This is one of the few Sportsgirl polishes I own.

I'm not the biggest fan of the Sportsgirl polishes. I think they're overpriced and I hated it when they changed to these skinny, long bottles. They've now changed back to the regular rectangular styles but none of the new colours they've put out have grabbed my attention.

Etude House GR607. Your standard slightly greyed out dark green creme. Similar colours include American Apparel Hunter and Orly Enchanted Forest. But really, I can't get enough of these greens and I love it just the same!

Missha BL01. The first picture shows the base colour of BL01 and the second picture shows more of the bright blue shimmer that this polish contains. The shimmer is gorgeous but it kinda gets overshadowed by all the fine holographic glitter that's been thrown in. This gives it a chunky holo finish that's reminiscent of those Nubars - Jewel, Gem and ... I'm blanking on the other one.

NYX Girls Emerald Forest. Not to be confused with Enchanted Forest which is a different green glitter. Emerald Forest is really complex, I can't even describe it... All sorts of green and gold microglitter and flakes in a darkish green jelly. Here's a macro (click to enlarge)...

Do you see all the glitters? So gorgeous up close. But as much as I love the close up of this one, I think it's missing something. It's got all the right things going on - green, mutli-dimensional glitter and lots of depth but I don't know... it just doesn't wow me like it should. (o.O) What is wrong with me???

Essie Ruby Slippers. I had to work so hard to get this one to photograph properly. None of my pics would show the glitter correctly. It's so glowy that it freaked out my camera. The first picture is much better than the second in terms of colour and what the polish actually looks like. Ruby Slippers is beautiful even if this kind of colour is overdone. Definitely one of the best takes on the ruby slipper type colours.

NOTD OPI Last Friday Night over black

I'm pretty sure each and every one of you have seen this a zillion times before already but I want to post because I looovvee it!

This is two coats over black

How gorgeous is that glitter?! All shiny and iridescent. I took a macro as well so we can all ogle the pretty, pretty glitter :)

I'm not sure how much input Katy Perry had on the collection but I'm very much enjoying it. I can't say I'm a big fan of her music though... I much prefer my late 90's/early 00's tunes. (BOYBANDS!!) LMAO, horrible I know... but I cannot deny my love :)

LA Girl Color Addicts

LA Girls' Color Addict line has been out for some time now. I've only recently picked up a few from Cherry Culture (along with the few Glitter Addicts I posted here) since there was a small price decrease from $4 to $3 and a 20% sale.

Gold shimmer!!! Oh man, so cool! A whole line with gold shimmer... LA Girl, you really be full of win.

The application on all of these were really smooth and pigmented. Two coats for all.

Hypnotic. A dark(ish) yet bright blue. It actually leans slightly green but my camera sucks and the colour is a little off. Imagine it slightly greener - almost a little teal. Gorgeous colour but beware! It stains like a mofo. This gave me really bad Smurf fingers when I removed it.

Intoxicate. Dark reddy/plummy purple. There is a lot of gold shimmer in this one. It has the most shimmer out of all the others. Just look how much depth the shimmer adds to it!

Idol. Dusty navy blue. In contrast to Intoxicate, Idol has the least amount of shimmer. It's almost a hidden shimmer where it only really pops out at you under bright light or in the sun. The gold works so well with the blue. Such a pretty colour!

Disorder. Medium taupe-y grey. I think my pictures throw this very green. It's not that green at all IRL - it's more of just a dirty grey shade... with gold shimmer!! I love it!

I've been spending so much money lately at Cherry Culture. Between these Color Addicts, Glitter Addicts and NYX... I really hope they have another sale soon :D

KOTD NYX Girls Luscious Green and Konad White

Woo! All my exams are finished! Done and dusted. Finito! Well, at least for another five months until the next batch comes along.

Here is what I wore during my exams.

This is plate M64. What a nice design. I very much liked it with Luscious Green.

Here is a pic of Luscious Green all by it's lonesome..

Isn't it gorgeous?! I wore this for a day before I decided I wanted to slap some konad on. It's a metallic greeny-gold. Super glowy. This is close to the fabled Moonpool apparently. Ahhhh... those ribbons of gold metallic shimmer is so pretty. It's not too brushstrokey either. Very nice!
